DOMINIKA DANCEWICZ and ALINA KLIMASZEWSKA invite Houston Polonia and Friends to a very special concert

The immersive program features the iconic “Myths” op.30 by Karol Szymanowski. Three musical poems inspired by stories from Greek Mythology: “The Spring of Arethusa”, “Narcissus” and “Dryads and Pan”.

The program also includes a dramatic sonata for violin and piano in a minor by Polish pianist, composer, and politician (!) Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Written in 1885 after a great personal loss, it is a virtuosic and dark expression of heartbreak, as well as hope.

As always, the artists will share their thoughts on the history and context of the music. Bring your kids, friends, families and students.
