Pianist:  17 year old Yun WEI of China

School: Julliard School

Teacher: Robert McDonald

Born in 1994, Yun Wei started her music career at the age of 6 in Hunan, China. She was admitted to The Affiliated Primary School of Wuhan Conservatory of Music in 2001 under the tutorship of Teacher Wu Man. Then In 2004 she was recruited to The Affiliated Middle School of Wuhan Conservatory of Music under the tutorship of Teacher Zheng Xiaofeng. Through years in Wuhan conservatory of music, Yun Wei gained her recognition. In March, 2007, participated in The Second National KAWAI Piano Competition and won the first place in the Group of Adolescent Professionals of the Wuhan competition zone. August 12-26, 2007, participated in the “Pan-Pacific Piano Competition & Sino-U.S. Youth Summer Camp” sponsored by Sino-American Culture Association, won the third place in the Group of Adolescent Professionals. In October, 2007, participated in 2007 Helen Cup Fourth Chinese Pieces Piano Competition and won the first place in the Adolescence Group A of the Wuhan zone. In May, 2009, participated in Ameri-China International Music Foundation 2009 First Annual Elite Audition and won the first place in Junior Division of the Wuhan zone. She was studying with teacher Chu-Fang Huang since May 2009. Now she is in The Julliard School under Robert McDonald.
