Texas WOSP (Wielka Orkiestra Światecznej Pomocy) 32nd finale this year will take place in Austin. This event’s goal is to help raise funds to purchase equipment for diagnosis, monitoring, surgical interventions, and rehabilitation of pulmonary diseases among kids and adults.
(Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy – WOSP) is Poland’s biggest non-governmental, non-profit charity organization aimed at raising funds for pediatric care. It started in 1993 as a one-off fundraising event to “Protect Health and Save Children’s Lives by Providing Medical Equipment to Public Hospitals.” It has since grown to an annual daylong event held in Poland and across the globe: from the US to Indonesia, to Japan and Norway – our charitable orchestra plays everywhere!
WHEN Saturday, January 27, 2024, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
WHERE Amphitheater at Mueller Lake Park, 4550 Mueller Blvd, Austin, TX 78723.
We are sharing Dr. Jim Mazurkiewicz’s invitation:
‘This will be a statewide event representing Polonia from Austin, Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio and other cities in Texas to raise funds. The fundraising theme is “Post-pandemic lungs” with an objective to help both children and adults affected by Covid.
All the raised funds will be dedicated to purchasing equipment for diagnosis, monitoring, surgical interventions, and rehabilitation of pulmonary diseases among kids and adults in Poland. Last year, they raised over $25,000 while uniting our hearts with our motherland and engaging our local communities.
Their goal is not only to raise funds, but also build a strong Polish community and promote Poland in the US in the most colorful and playful way. This is the link to the event: https://www.wospaustin.org/events/wosp-32nd-grand-finale-in-austin
