Jan Czochralski- the Father of Modern Civilization – Lecture Invitation

You are invited to the virtual lecture (Zoom) on the achievements of Jan Czochralski, ‘a Polish chemist who invented the Czochralski process, which is used for growing single crystals and in the production of semiconductor wafers. It is still used in over 90 percent of all electronics in the world that use semiconductors. He is the most cited Polish scholar.’

During this lecture, Dr. Paweł Tomaszewski from Polish Academy of Sciences will discuss the accomplishments of Polish chemist Jan Czochralski. He invented the Czochralski method in 1916, which is used for growing single crystals and semiconductors. Fast forward to 2021, laptop computers, mobile phones, watches and a host of other electronic devices would not exist without semiconductors.

This lecture will be conducted in Polish language.
