One of Polish greatest mezzo-sopranos, Agnieszka Rehlis made her debut in Houston Grand Opera on Saturday, 18 January.  She is singing the role of Hannah in the American premiere of Mieczysław Weinberg’s opera “The Passenger”.

This opera is based on Second World War story by Auschwitz survivor, Zofia Posmysz, who wrote a play titled The Passenger from Cabin 45 for Polish radio. The play became the basis of the opera by Mieczyslaw Weinberg in 1967.
