Dear Fellow PolChamTX Members and Friends,
I trust you’ve been enjoying a rejuvenating fall season. While we recognize the global economic challenges we all face, we also firmly believe that within crises lie opportunities. Our hope is that you seize these opportunities to advance your businesses and professional careers. At PolChamTX, our commitment remains focused on expanding the Polish American network and fostering opportunities in Texas and beyond. With that spirit in mind, I am delighted to provide you with a brief update on two significant initiatives we are actively working on.

1. Annual Dinner Tradition:
We have successfully hosted numerous networking events in Houston and Austin, but we’ve come to realize that an organization like ours thrives when we bring all our members and friends together in one annual gathering. Building on our cherished Barborka tradition (St. Barbara events), we have decided to inaugurate annual dinners on the first Saturday of December each year. This year’s event is scheduled for December 2, 2023, in the Our Lady of Czestochowa – Houston Parish Hall at Blalock.
We are thrilled to announce that the Board of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce in Texas has chosen to honor two exceptional leaders. Mr. Walter Klemp, President, and CEO of Moleculin Biotech, as the Entrepreneur of the Year 2023. Moleculin Biotech, Inc. is a clinical stage pharmaceutical company focused on the development of oncology drug candidates, all of which are based on discoveries made at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center with 6 highly promising anti-cancer drugs in the pipeline. The Company has augmented US clinical trials with Anti-Cancer Clinical Trials in Poland through collaboration with the medical community in Poland. In addition, we are proud to recognize Dr. Jim Mazurkiweicz who will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his unwavering dedication and commitment to forging connections between Poland, Texas, and the United States. Over the years, Dr. Jim has hosted an impressive number of delegations, further solidifying our international ties. Please mark your calendars and join us in celebrating these remarkable successes, while also contributing to the growth of the Polish business network in Texas. I would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to PAIH and the Polish Consulate in Houston for their invaluable partnership and co-sponsorship of this event.
Attached to this email is a flyer with event details. Please save the date December 2, 2023. Invitations through the event management system will be sent this week. We eagerly anticipate your presence at the upcoming annual dinner.

2. Member Management Platform:
As a volunteer-based organization, we acknowledge the challenges we face in managing our back-office operations. To enhance our efficiency, we have decided to invest in a member management platform. After careful consideration, we have selected WildApricot, an application that offers an array of functionalities essential to our needs, including an online directory, digital membership certificates, website management, dues collection, and automated receipts. Implementation of this platform will commence shortly, so please be prepared to receive communications from our automated system.
On behalf of the Board of PolChamTX, I extend my warmest regards and look forward to seeing each one of you at the Annual Dinner on 12/2 in Houston, TX.

Warm regards,
Dr. Art Dunal
