The deadline for high school seniors to enter the Silesian-Polish Texans Essay Contest-Scholarship is April 17. Eligible participants are Texas students in grade 12 of any ethnicity or faith. Up to four $1000 scholarships will be awarded by the Father Leopold Moczygemba Foundation. The essay topic is “Portrayal of a Silesian-Polish Texan.” The foundation has previously awarded scholarships to students from Floresville, La Vernia, The Woodlands, Poth, Panna Maria, Pflugerville, Kerrville, Victoria, New Braunfels, Falls City and Fourney.
