{"id":56609,"date":"2026-07-23T19:10:38","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T01:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forum-polonia-houston.com\/?p=56609"},"modified":"2026-07-23T19:10:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T01:10:38","slug":"rice-university-and-baylor-college-researchers-grant-by-department-of-defense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forum-polonia-houston.com\/?p=56609","title":{"rendered":"Rice University and Baylor College Researchers &#8211; Grant by Department of Defense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rice.edu\/\"><strong>Rice University<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcm.edu\/\"><strong>Baylor College of Medicine<\/strong><\/a> researchers, who have been awarded a two-year, <strong>$800,000 grant<\/strong> from the Department of Defense (DoD) to develop a new approach that leverages advanced computational models to revolutionize early diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic interventions for lung cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The project is co-led by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.rice.edu\/faculty\/marek-kimmel\"><strong>Marek Kimmel<\/strong>,<\/a>\u00a0a professor of statistics at Rice University, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcm.edu\/people-search\/olga-gorlova-35211\"><strong>Olga Yurievna Gorlova<\/strong><\/a>, an associate professor\u00a0of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.
