Houston Polonia and friends are invited to a very special recital of Magdalena Andreew-Siwek<\/a><\/strong>, featuring some of the world’s most beloved arias. Andrew Schneider, piano, will accompany\u00a0the singer<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Magdalena Andreew-Siwek<\/strong> \u2013 soprano<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    She graduated with distinction from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, studying under Professor Halina S\u0142onicka. She further refined her skills under the guidance of Kaludi Kaludov, Teresa \u017bylis-Gara, Alexandrina Milcheva, and Ryszard Karczykowski. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    She was a soloist with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, where she sang Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito<\/em> and the title role in Il re pastore<\/em> by W.A. Mozart, performing at the Mozart Festival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In 2003, she made her debut at the Grand Theatre \u2013 National Opera in Warsaw as Madame Cortese in Rossini\u2019s Il viaggio a Reims<\/em>, alongside Ewa Podle\u015b and under the musical direction of Maestro Alberto Zedda. This performance led to an invitation to take on the role of Pile in the premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki\u2019s Ubu Rex, conducted by Jacek Kaspszyk and directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski. With this opera, she also performed on the National Opera\u2019s tour at Sadler\u2019s Wells Theatre in London and made a recording for CD Accord. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The artist also appears in oratorio and chamber repertoire, performing, among others, Bach\u2019s Magnificat<\/em> (Wratislavia Cantans Festival), Beethoven\u2019s Symphony No. 9, and Handel\u2019s Messiah<\/em> (both in the famous Church of St. Madeleine in Paris), Mozart\u2019s Requiem<\/em> and Mass in C major<\/em>, Pergolesi\u2019s Stabat Mater<\/em>, Schubert\u2019s Mass in G major<\/em>, as well as songs by Lutos\u0142awski, Poulenc, and Szymanowski. She has also performed at the Jan Kiepura Festival in Krynica and during an opera gala at the Varna Opera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For Polish Radio, she has recorded works by contemporary composers such as Jacek Grudzie\u0144, Marian Sawa, and Weronika Ratusi\u0144ska. She also joined Kaludi Kaludov in the recording of the album Ave Maria<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
